Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti rewards time more than speed. The right plan depends on where wildlife is moving, how many nights you can give the park and whether you prefer a road journey or a fly-in route.

Choose the region before the lodge

Seronera in the central Serengeti is the dependable first-safari choice. The north becomes especially compelling around the Mara River season, while the southern plains and Ndutu area suit green-season travel. A well-positioned camp can save hours of daily driving.

How long to stay

Allow at least three nights when the Serengeti is the centre of your trip. Four nights gives a guide room to respond to sightings without turning every day into a transfer. Shorter visits work best when paired with an internal flight.
